a question about sentense structure

E.g.
..they can get information about (1which) kinds of objects (2which) an insect should or should not interact with.

Which 'which's in the above sentence is correct? This was on my English test and supposedly the first which is correct. But I'd like to know if the second one could be right as well. Thanks

in the second instance I mean without which 1 only which 2. And I'm aware that just saying 'kinds of objects' to 'the kinds of objects' sounds a bit awkward but does that make the sentence ungrammatical?
