A question about "respectively"

Hello,

Does this sentence: "I am going to debone the chicken thighs and skewer them up, respectively." sound odd to you? For some reason "respectively" doesn't sound right to me here. I might be wrong, though.

Thank you.

Top answer

" sound odd to you? It is simply wrong. 'Respectively' is used only when there are two sets of factors: I am going to debone and skewer the chicken thighs and lamb chunks respectively.
