0 Hi Frankly Sp.02br
00I have the 7th edition, it was published in 2005. The 6th edition was published in 2000, so your version is not old at all and you really don't need a more recent one. If I were you I wouldn't buy the 7th, but if you feel like spending some money for a new dictionary, I'd consider buying one from a different publisher. You already have a recent one from th

00I agree that one needs to have different dictionaries. Your recommendation to buy a different dictionary instead of the 7th edition of the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary has my support.02br

0 I have two dictionaries, Concise Oxford Dictionary 9th edition and Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary 7th edition. Both of them are pretty good, but the bulk of the latter is comparatively short. But its good point is that it is very easy. Now i am curious about the 10th edition of Concise Oxford Dictionary. I would appreaciate if anyone gives me some suggesition.0-

0Umm, yeah Goodman, but those dictionaries you use are not for learners, are they? Those for learners have a lot of examples and show how to use the most common structures... you know, I'm still a beginner, and ESL students usually find conventional dictionaries too difficult to use. Anyway, on Merriam-Webster's website I saw "MW Learner's Dictionary, coming in 2007". 05002br

Yes. There is Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary 7th Edition available in the market which contains many more words than that of 6th edition. I think there are near about 90000 world in 6th edition. But in 7th edition there are 1,83,500 British and American words, many illustrations, and a compass CD-ROM and much more.
