A question

Dear all,
Please take a look at the following sentences:

1) “Not long ago a friend of mine told me she was tired of where she lives and that she wants to move.”

2) “Not long ago a friend of mine told me she was tired of where she lived and that she wanted to move.”

Which one is grammatically correct? and why?

Many thanks for your help in advance

Best regards,
