A quarter v.s. quarter

Hi,

Could you tell me which sentences are correct, please? Seems I've seen both versions, with and without the indefinite article.

1. Meet me at quarter to four

2. Meet me at a quarter to four

3. It was quarter after four that he left

4. It was a quarter after four that he left

Thanks !

All OK (as corrected). (Personally, I don't use the article.
