A puzzling sentence

When I was young, I ................. to the zoo two days a week.

a) would go b) used to go c) went

My answer is : went

I would like to know the difference in usage between used to , would and a verb in the simple past tense.

You have an adverb of time (two days a week), so it doesn't matter which of those you use. They are all OK. Personally, I'd say "used to go", but the others are also possible.
