A puzzling question

Which of the following sentences have the correct punctuation?

1. Humanity has only one thing left, "hope."

2. Humanity has only one thing left: hope.

3. I have a bad cold; consequently, I won't come to your birthday party.

4. I have a bad cold, consequently, I won't come to your birthday party.

5. Tom, the carpenter, made this cupboard.

6. Tom [the carpenter] made this cupboard.

My answer:

The sentences that have the correct punctuation are : 1, 3, 5 & 6
