No. It looks like a misprint that got by the editors. I would say either "an egg" or "eggs" in place of "egg".

Yes, from the viewpoint of the punctuation.

Not for me. I don't think of 'egg' as an uncountable noun. There may be regions, however, where they accept 'egg and a sandwich' just as the rest of us accept
