A puzzling question

Ahmed recommended me ………… on the new course.
a) enrolling b) should enroll c) enroll d) to enroll

The model answer given to this question is (d), but I read in Longman Dictionary the following :

Don’t say: I recommend her to speak to a lawyer.

According to the dictionary, the model answer is wrong. Am I right?
