A puzzling question

My father looked at me with a ( blend /mixture/ hybrid / combination ) of admiration and pride when I came first.

I go for 'mixture'. My friend says that 'combination' is the correct answer. What is the difference between mixture, combination, and blend?

I'm not fond of the question, but I would choose "combination." This looks like a tricky question from the TEOFL.
