A proper formal email to say "No" to customer friendly invitation.

Hi,

Would like to seek help to write a formal email to say no to a customer invitation for lunch.

Basically the background is, our team had help one of the customer (the director) to develop a simple software. So, the customer sent an email:

"Hi Michael,
May I have the honor to buy you and Judy an humble lunch?"

In fact, we feel that we just provided simple assistance, and a lunch will be too much, but in my reply, i also hope that the customer will not feel like being rejected.

Hope that someone can give some pointers.

Thanks

Just write a simple thank-you indicating that it is an unnecessary gesture-- and why not offer to have lunch together, Dutch treat? If you'd like to post your effort here, we'll have a look at it.
