Very good, Vincent. Put a comma after 'big', and there's only one 't' in 'trapped'.

The comma after big is frequently omitted in BrE.

Why would it be, ferdis? This is three independent clauses.

It's a list of three items joined by listing commas. It smells AND it's big AND it can be seen from a mile away.

If it really were three independent clauses joined by 'and' in the role of a coordinating conjunction, then the comma after 'smells' would be a splice.
