A plural noun to be treated as a singular noun?

Hello,

Is this appropriate to treat the plural as a singular noun collectively?

"WDAP applications such as t-learning and s-learning is an alternative model to the existing model."

If the above is wrong, any better suggestions?

eg. "WDAP application including as t-learning and s-learning is an alternative model to the existing model."

Thanks a lot.

It is a possible construction, but I suggest that you go with something like 'the use of WDAP applications...is...'.

I have seen such uses and thanks a lot for confirming that and suggestion.
