A piece of paper or part of handout

Sometimes, teachers give student a very samll size of handout to do some activities. I mean instead of a4 size handout , for example 1/7 th size of handout with just a coule of sentences, in such case what is the proper way to refer to the paper?

When teaching, it can be a problem if you hand out five or six sheets of paper. The students start reading the paper but stop listening to what you are saying. So you might just give out one part, to start with..

"Please look at this small piece of the handout"

However, if it is only a small handout (and that is all there is), then..
