A physics state

Hi,

I don't know how to describe or name the term of a physical state. It is when people sometimes make sounds from the mouth constantly. It seems like some air is forced out of stomachs, and you can not stop it by forcing it. It is very common. It is similar to people when they are full or drinks coke.

It happen not very often to me anymore but whe it happen, my mom alwasy ask me to drink water to stop it.

Anyone if you can tell me the term and have a better description. That would be wonderful.

Thanks

I think the word you're looking for is "hiccups" (sometimes spelled "hiccoughs"). Usually drinking water will stop the hiccups. Sometimes frightening the person (by shouting suddenly, for instance) makes them stop.
