a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere

I'd like to go to the Mormon church because it has a relaxed atmosphere.

After the final exam, we'll have a relaxing vacation.

Why does the first sentence uses relaxed while the second relaxing in a similar pattern? Could you dig up a reasonable explanation? Thanks.

I think in the first sentence , it is emphasized that the atmosphere is calm, quiet and serene itself rather than the meaning that gives us the impression that vacation has a pecularity which relaxes us as in the second sentence.
