A Past and Passed Query

I get confused between past and passed sometimes.

The girl walked past her and the smile immediately disappeared off of Sarah's face.

Is that right? Or should it be "passed"?

Thanks.

Thanks. I have another question about that sentence, actually. Would it sound better if instead of "...off of Sarah's face," it read "...from Sarah's face"?

Thanks.

Yes, that would sound much better to my ear.

Hi,

off of Sarah's face.

If you really want to say this, just say off Sarah's face.
