I think writing something and drawing pictures are similar in some ways. When you write, you start by getting a big picture of what you are going to write about, and then make some changes and additional improvements until you finish. You could say that the pages of your writing is the size of your canvas. You can work on the detailed parts by breaking the linearity of words, or change the balance between concrete parts and abstract ones. You can make as many changes as you like until you are satisfied with your writing.
