"a" paper?

Is it okay to say "a thin paper", or we should only say "a piece/sheet of thin paper"?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Technically, it's incorrect to say "a paper". Having said that, you will hear people say it that way anyway. Paper is uncountable.
