a pair of reading glasses

I bought a pair of reading glasses, which are bifocal, as prescribed by my doctor. But I have not yet got used to them, and it feels weird wearing them. Therefore, I often go without them while reading or working at my computer.

Is there any way that I can avoid the pestering "them" in the passage above? Also, would you check for grammar and other mistakes?

Note that "reading glasses" and "bifocals" aren't the same thing. Reading glasses are just for "up-close" work, while bifocals have part of the lens for distance and part for up close. If you want me to try to make it sound a tiny bit more natural: I got bifocals, as my doctor prescribed, but I haven't gotten used to them yet, and it feels weird to wear them.

The use of "them" is just fine.Note that "reading glasses" and "bifocals" aren't the same thing. Reading glasses are just for "up-close" work, while bifocals have part of the lens for distance and part for up close.

If you want me to try to make it sound a tiny bit more natural:

Thanks GG for explaining the whole thing. I thought bifocal is the opposite of unifocal and reading glasses can be both.
