1. The machine was made by a company named abc.

2. The machine was made by the comany named abc.

3. The machine was made by a company whose name is abc.

4. The machine was made by the company whose name is abc.

Which one is correct? If all are correct, are there any differcences among them?

"named abc" is, of course, more concise than "whose name is abc", and therefore preferable in my opinion - although both are correct. As to "a" or "the", both are correct. Only context triggers the use of one or the other.
