I have an 'issue ' with " every word starting with a vowel " . It should read 'starting w / a vowel SOUND , except a long " u " sound in fact sounds like a "y " How many of these words would have an in front of them ? : ewe , yew , user , university ?

Actually, to simplify, any word in which the very first sylable's letter at least sounds like a vowel, then "an" goes before the word. Any other word would have "a" before the word.
