Why might an athlete drop out of a sporting event? Has this ever happened to you?

A professional athlete takes part in several competitions in a year. Sometimes, a sportsman can not attend a game or tournament. Maybe, the most common reason for that is injuries. When a player injures in exercises or a game they might miss the next one or more sporting events. There are some boxers who had knocked out in a fight and could not attend a match for several months. Also, some car or motorcycle drivers will be injured when they missed their vehicle’s control and run into objects around the path. Also, there are occasionally some political reasons that force some athletes to withdraw from a sports event. For instance, if a country has some political struggles with another, it might not let the players have a competition with an opponent from that country. Although usually, this makes no sense for a large group of sportspeople, they should leave the competition in these cases. The other reason for giving up sports activities by players is the lack of money they can earn. This is more widespread between players who do not play sports as their career. I have some personal experiences about that, too. I had an accident when I was riding my friend’s motorcycle fifteen years ago. My knee was injured because of that severe accident and I failed to play football like before that.
