A nightmare

Can I say,

(a) One Saturday night, Susan stayed alone at home. She was reading some books in her room before going to bed.

(b) Suddenly, Susan saw an ugly monster coming out by / at the window. She was scared of the moster, so she jumped out (of her bed) and ran to her parent's room.

(c) She heard the howling sound. Then, she jumped in her parent's bed. She pulled the blanket to hide her head / pulled the blanket over her head.
