A name for a gym

There is a large-scale gymnasium in my city where citizens can play various ball games, including volleyball, basketball, table tennis, etc., do gymnastics, and even practice archery.

This gym is named "ABC Municipal Synthesis Gymnasium" in English, but this name sounds odd to me. What do you think? What do you normally call this type of facility in English?

Sure.

If the facility is private and requires the payment of a membership fee, the it could also be a "Sports Club."
