A move-in date

Hi teachers,

If I am ready to hand over an office after the renovation work done to my customer, would the following sentences correct?

1. The renovation work is brought to an end. Your office will be ready on June 1st, 2009.

2. The move-in date is set for June 1st, 2009.

3. The office is ready to occupy.

4. You can start moving in with your office furniture.

5. We are ready to turn over the office to you on June 1st, 2009.

Thank you very much

With #1, 3, and 5, you are simply telling them when the office is avaible. With #2, you are telling them when they should move - which is not your job. #4 is a bit like #2 in that respect.

Hi GG,

Can "move-in" act as a noun phrase? Like "move-in date"

Thank you.

Yes, that's fine.

My objection to that in your sentence is that your job is to get the office ready. THEIR job is to determine their move-in date. It could be that June 1 isn't convenient for them, so you shouldn't tell them it's their move-in date.

They might put out a memo to their staff: The renovations are almost complete in our office space, so our move-in date has been se
