A Monday v.s. Monday

Hi,

I'm trying to draw a distinction between "Monday" v.s. "Monday".
Could you check my sentences and tell me which ones are incorrect, please?

1.1 Most Americans work on Monday
1.2 Most Americans work on a Monday
1.3 Most Americans work on Mondays

2.1 We went to the lake on Monday
2.2 We went to the lake on a Monday

On the face of it, 1.2 is incorrect, but I have my doubts

Thanks !
