“a media editor”, "media editor" the usage of article

Hi there,

I am confused by the usage of article. On The Economist website, the journalist introduction page, they say like "she is Business editor", "as political correspondent", all without the article "a". Would it be correct if I add an article "a/an" before their titles, such as "she is a Business editor", "as a political correspondent"? What are the differences between those?

Many thanks!

matthew1622 "she is Business editor", "as political correspondent" When speaking of the role or title, we omit the article. If we add "a", we are talking about only one of several people with the same type of occupation. He is king.
