a matter of one's perspective?

0Hi, 02br
02br
00I got this sentence from this forum's thread started by Starstuff, which is "We acquaint ourselves with the different types of galaxies in the universe."02br
02br
00I think there is "the" there because a person is seeing specific different types of galaxies in his mind (matter of his perspective) and 01u00NOT because the phrase 'the different types' is restricted by the subsequent phrase 'of galaxies'. My contention is that this need for 'the' didn't come from context but rather how he sees the types, either generally or specifically.02u02br
02br
00Similar to this:02br
02br
01u00The cadets02u00 in this academy are well-behaving.02br
02br
00So, if that person wasn't looking at it without specificity in his mind, he would just as well have written "We acquaint ourselves with 01u00different types02u00 (without 'the') of galaxies in the universe." 02br
02br
00Am I right? 0-
