A man my father/legend says

Hi. Are they correct? Is the relative pronoun (?) "that" that is supposed to be placed between the word "man" and the words "my father" and "legend" optional? I think it is.

1. A man my father says is the person who did it is there.

2. A man legend says is the man who built this mansion is here.
