Vocabulary

(a lot/lots of) vs. quite a lot

Greetings to all!
This is a question for native speakers and it is not up for guessing.
I checked the dictionary for the two words but I would like to hear from native speakers.

Which one is more:
1. a lot
2. quite a lot
Example sentences:
1. All signing babies and their families are talking a lot!
2. All signing babies and their families are talking quite a lot!

Thanks
