A lot VS much

Can anyone kindly tell me the difference between two sentence below?

I wish it much

I wish it a lot

In this case, it means something I want to happen, but that hasn't come true yet and seems unlikely to happen.

What difference do these two sentence make?

Thanks

They both mean precisely the same, but the first is not natural; we seldom use 'much' in affirmative statements.

In affirmative sentense, it is better to use "much" although it is acceptable.

Do I get it right?

Thanks Mister

It is usually unacceptable, in that it usually reveals that the user is not a native speaker. There are few situations in which 'much' sounds natural in affirmative declarations. The most common is 'Thank you very much'.

Is it okay if I use the expression "Thank you a lot" ?
