A lot or much

Hi everyone,

Which is correct:

A. I drank a lot of beer.
B. I drank much beer.

Or is there a better way of saying it?

The usual fom is A. B is not actually incorrect, but it is not a very natural form of words in everyday English. It feels literary, or abbreviated, or otherwise seems as if the writer/speaker is deliberately trying to create a special effect.
