A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of problems if it is not managed correctly. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world. Do you think that benefits of tourism outweigh its drawbacks?

As all we know, tourism is a beneficial industry in many countries including developing and developed countries. Obviously, tourism brings these nations a bunch of advantages and disadvantages simultaneously. This essay will point out some benefits as well as downsides of this area and my personal perspective is that tourism has more good aspects compared to bad ones.
To start with, tourism is a favorable industry. This has been proved by many countries that have numerous tourist attractions. By appealing millions of tourists every year, these countries can benefit them via providing relevant services namely hotel, trade, transport, etc. Regarding to employment, tourism offer a shedload of jobs. These jobs entail plenty of types of employees from blue-collar workers to white-collar workers. Therefore, tourism apparently purges civils from unemployment, helps them improve their income and as a result boost the holistic economy of that country. On the other hand, traveling can also popularize country's image to all over the world. It can be the spectacular sceneries of nature, the trait of people here, the cuisine or the culture, etc. Let's take Vietnam for a good example. Tourism makes a great contribution to national as well as individual economic benefits annually. Moreover, it is this industry taking part in introducing Vietnamese culture and people to friends who are oversea, locating Vietnam's image in the mind of international friends.
However, tourism also has a disturbing drawback that many countries in the world have to put lots of effort to resolve. It is environmental contamination. The more tourists travel in, the more activities are done. Means of transport will release more toxic fume if there are increasing demands of motion. Garbage is also uncontrollably thrown away noticeably at tourist traps. These activities of tourism cause a general status of pollution in countries where traveling is developed.
In terms of my view, despite the worrying problems that tourism brings about, I find that we cannot refute its advantages. The bottom line is everyone of us must take responsibility for preserving these tourist attractions from contamination and exploit the appropriately to assure a sustainable development for our country.
In a word, tourism simultaneously has both good and bad sides and I advocate to develop it because its advantages outweigh disadvantages. The most important thing is that government, organizations and individuals should be aware of what to do to make use of tourism and restrict the consequences it would lead to.
