I usually hear people say things like the following sentences.
(1) Five years down the line, you will have a successful career.
(2) Three years down the line, you will be more skilled in dealing with people.
If you don't want to be precise, can you say something like this?
(3) A long way down the line, you will learn how to do it properly.
