A logical sentence? Thank you.

---
After leaving Mr Johnsons lesson, one student said to another:

“We learnt lots more in his lesson than Mrs Smith’s lessons. I definitely know about the pie charts now – hehe!”
---

The answer does make logical sense doesn’t it? I was wondering as the “I definitely know about the pie charts now – hehe!” could be interpreted as the teacher has over taught them just one thing. This then does not really follow the logic of the “we learnt lots more in his lesson”.

(1) I suppose it could mean that lots more was learnt in his lesson and the students are just giving an example of one particular thing they have learnt.
(2) Or finally it could mean more was learnt in his lesson and the students really understood pie charts because the teacher taught them a lot about them.

Would you say the answer sentence is logical? And if so would you agree with my more logical explanations (1) and/or (2).

Thank you very much for any help. Cheers guys Emotion: smile

It's impossible to figure that out without a context. It could mean anything.

To me, it sounds like they learned a lot and quickly for some reason (Interesting lesson? Longer lesson? Good teacher? Innovative methods?) Then it sounds like pie charts were involved in some way (Spent a lot of time on pie charts? Too much? Too little? That person loves them? That person hates them?)
