A little help / use of English

A friend of mine and I are preparing for cae exam together. We had some arguments about which is correct. What I'm hopping to read from you is why is something this way or another.

In first two sentences we just have a guess what the meaning should be. First: 'able' should be transformed into an adjective with negative meaning. Something that makes you less able. Has it got something to do with 'disability'? Migraines are far more intens, than headaches.
