A little gentle persuation

Hello,

Could you tell me please what does 'a little' refer to in this sentence?

Was the persuasion a little gentle or was there a little persuasion that was just gentle?

She agreed to come after a little gentle persuasion.

I am so confused Emotion: sad.

Thanks

A small amount of gentle persuasion. Note this is often used ironically. It may not apply to this situation, but it's a common bit of dialogue in a movie or tv show after the person is beaten up a little bit (or a lot) so the persuasion is not gentle at all.
