Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I personally think of "slightly" as the smallest amount, followed by "a little" and then "somewhat". But they're rather interchangable.

Marolda little (bit) somewhat slightly
A little (bit):
While little is in a negative sense meaning not much, a little would mean positively as more than none/nothing at all. The bit word can be perceived as an informality.

Thank you for a clear explanation.

Incidentally, I happen to have read that you come from India or at least, it is written in your description of yourself. Can I ask you, how come you are so proficient in English as a one not having English as one's mother language. Are you in any closer touch with english in your daily life or how have you gotten so far in your level of English?

Well, I love English. And my level in English can be termed as just a learner. I do make a plenty of mistakes. Ask anybody over here!

That is my case as well. English is my greatest hobby apart from sport to which I've been devoting as much time as to English.Emotion: smile
