Letter Writing

a letter to my instructor

Hello.

I want to write an e-mail to my instructor and ask some questions about her class.

This is the first time that I send an e-mail to her so I think I should introduce myself first.

But I don't know how to start.

Is it okay to start with "Dear prof. ___" or " Dear ms.____" ?

And how can I introduce myself?

Thanks.

If the instructor [?teacher/tutor] has a title, then use it [remember that titles need capital letters: Professor, Doctor, Mr, Mrs, Ms]; if not, then Dear Ms. xxxx is fine.

You can start "I shall be attending your class starting in [month], and would like to ask some questions about it." Then put down your questions.
