A letter of motivation

Dear Sir / Madam

The mother art is architecture. Without architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization, this quote of the great architect Frank Lloyd Wright is really describes my belief in architecture.

The history of nations is being recorded through their buildings and architecture and as an Egyptian I feel the greatness of our civilization by looking to our eternal architecture through all ages wishing to recall it and participate in building the new modern Egypt.

I like art. I have always been into it. As a daughter of an architect (my beloved father). I was raised in a home full of inspiration and creativity. I involved myself into the art work since my childhood; I have always liked drawing, creating things, making unique accessories, furniture and even clothes.

I loved lego constructing and decorating things, doing all sorts of creative activities. At the same time I have always engaged mathematics and geometry developing not only artistic skills and vivid imagination, but also the strong controlled analytical thinking and logical mind.

I have always fascinated with my father’s designs and work. Pointing to one of his buildings for my friends while passing by is my habit and a great source of pride for me. It is my dream to see my own work standing there, make my marks and leave my own fingerprints to this great world of architecture. That is why I chose architecture as my path. It will fulfill my passion and improve my creativity and logical skills.

I’m applying for Architectural Engineering study group - Winter Semester 2012 at GUC, I didn’t put much effort in searching for another university since your great reputation is ahead of all other universities in Cairo, I have many friends and relatives who are studying in GUC and all of them encouraged me to join in.
The GUC study program, excellent learning environment and its highly qualified staff will offer me all promising carrier opportunities and pushing me to make my dreams come true and become a great talented architect.
