Those are common questions from grammer tests in Taiwan's junior high schools. Our local English text books insist that we should use "neither", for there is a negative adjective "few" in the front sentence, so we should use negative "neither" as well. What do you think of that? Thank you.

I think that they shouldn't insist. These are spoken English. A native speaker would use 'neither' for #1 certainly, and most probably for #3, but 'few' is too far away from negation to demand 'neither' and might well draw a 'so' from many competent native speakers.
