A hit list

A hit list is a list that someone makes of people they intend to have killed.

(collinsdictionary.com)

Is "to have killed" a perfect infinitive or a non-finite clause expressing causation in the sentence above?

------------------------------------

I think it is the latter.

Top answer

Right, grammatically it is ambiguous, but from the overall sense of it we can tell that "have" is causative.
