A hero is made in the moment...

Clark: You were right. I've been so buried by the mistakes of my past,
so worried about the resposibilities of the future I lost sight of the present.
Brainiac: A hero is made in the moment, (When you live in the present?) not from questioning the past
or fearing what's to come. Just remember that, Kal-El.

I think this refers to the event , not the habit. (the making of a hero in a particular moment) You may be nothing, but if the conditions are right, a single act at a single moment in time can convert you to a hero. Brainiac is implying that if Clark keeps this in mind, it may induce him to start living in the present.

Tbh, the concept of the episode is not to make Clark aware that a single moment can change his life. It's all about being letting go of the sadness of the past, worry of the future and instead, dwelling in the present. Clark was so worried that he'd repeat the mistakes of the past, in the future, that he was neglecting those closest to him (Lois, Oliver). Brainiac made him let go of all that. A p
