A group process ?

Hi~ In the following sentences, I don't understand why the author used the words "a group process".

From the context, people seem to be apt to try cheating in case of a group process, which I cannot understand. If it's a group work, I think people rather feel more relaxed than in a test which is about an individual.

If anybody understand this sentence, would you please explain some about that?

Your comment would be a big help for me. Thank you~!

Once you introduce a paradigm of success and students begin to like the
feeling of winning, this can result in a magnified pressure to cheat. In a
recent train the trainer program for teachers, I could not help but notice a
high number of teachers cheating on the final exam. I clarified that this
was not a group process and that it was to be perceived as a standard test.
To my surprise, none of the teachers changed their behavior. In fact, they
made no attempt to conceal their cheating or even to vary their answers.
It occurred to me that the cheating behavior seemed to be becoming more
prevalent over the course of the past few years.

It is a bit hard to understand. My guess would be that the "cheating" consisted of teachers helping each another in the exam, and that the statement that it was "not a group process" was to make it clear to them that such collaboration was not allowed.
