'...a greater part of humanity...'

Hi all

Does this sound natural? I intend 'a greater part of humanity' to mean very large group of people. Does it makes sense?

Every year, we would commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice for a greater part of humanity.

Thanks

Not quite. Why 'would'? Are you speaking of a past practice?

  • Not quite.
  • Why 'would'?
  • Are you speaking of a past practice?
  • If not, delete it.
  • 'The greater part of humanity' means most of humanity, and I don't think that you are speaking of that many people.
