"a google" like a Sony

Hi,

Do you say, "a google (a Google ?)" to mean a product made by Google, just like you say, "It's a Sony"?

Thank you,
M

Thank you,M I don't. I haven't heard "a Google", but that doesn't mean nobody says it. CJ

The reason we can say "it's a Sony" is because Sony is a well-known manufacturer that makes lots of different things.

Google have started making phones and netbooks, so as they make more stuff you might start to hear "it's a Google" in the future, but at the moment it sounds a bit weird, just because they aren't as well-known as a manufacturer.
