A good piece of reading for vocabulary expansion is wanted

Could you please recommend a good piece of reading that may help improve vocabulary?
Any book, journal or newspaper that exposes good English and rich lexicon, and which
you find worthwhile. Or even a reading that your consider to be must-read for each who
is planning to use English professionally.

It depends on your interests and goals.

Do you want to be a writer of science fiction?
Do you want to be a reporter for the local television news?
Do you want to write biographies of significant historical figures?
Do you want to write trendy ads for the newest technological gadgets?
Do you want to give self-help seminars for people seeking financial advice?

If you just want an advanced vocabulary, pure and simple, you might consider reading novels of the nineteenth century. They are chock-full of words that are still used nowadays but considered "million-dollar words".
