Hi Newguest To me, "a ***" would be a reference to the one and only Supreme Being, and "the ***" would be a reference to a specific one of several Supreme Beings. If the word "***" were not capitalized, my interpretation would be different. Others may have differing opinions.

How about "***" or "gods"???

If you were catholic and you were thinking of Christians' ***, I think you wouldn't use any article:

I believe some religions believe that there is more than one ***, so we would refer to one of them as "***" and more then one of them as "gods". I hope among the Forum members, there is at le

I am atheist, and when I see "a ***" I think one of many. In this case, I wouldn't capitalize ***. To me, *** is a pronoun used in many myths, not a proper noun. The *** might be used as a title in similar sky fairy fables, like Zeus.

If it is one of a number of gods, then "a ***"; if it is a single supreme deity, the ***.

Just to tell you, the Jainism sect has 24 Gods of worship. So we can have "a ***".

Hi Neeraj

Newguest's question isn't an easy one to answer. If someone asked me "Is there a ***?" I would understand the question to mean "Does the one (single) Supreme Being exist?" But if I were to refer generally to the 24 gods of a single religion, I would not capitalize the word 'gods'.
