A fruit's "in" season?

I know the common expression,
but can I say "when's lemon's IN season"?
I do want to insert the season wherein the fruit is in as noun in this questioning form of sentence, if that's possible.

No. You can say "When are lemons in season?"

No, that's very odd and unnatural.

CliveNo, that's very odd and unnatural.
But if you had to, how would you construct it? You obviously don't have to use the words that I used:)

No I meant if you really had to construct sentence in the way I described in my original post- "When is the ____ for lemons?"
